Teaser Tuesday (5)

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly blogging meme hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anybody can play along. Just do the following:

Grab your current read. Open to a random page. Share two teaser sentences from somewhere on that page.

Be careful not to include spoilers. You don't want to give the book away or ruin the book for others.

Share author and title (and page number) so others can add the book to their TBR list if they like your teaser.

Well this week my Teaser Tuesday post is going to be from two books, because I'm reading two. (Basically I went to two libraries and a bookstore, so just wait until Monday when I post my In My Mailbox post. I'm thrilled)

Anyway, the first book is my non-YA book that I'm reading this week. However, I think it may appeal to many of you. It's by Georgette Heyer and is entitled Faro's daughter. Heyer writes books set in about the same time as Jane Austen does. So all Jane Austen lovers, you should definitely check it out. I'm a few pages in and it's hilarious.

And the teaser sentences: "You are the strangest girl, why don't you mean to marry him? I'm sure you cannot hope for a better offer."  ~pg 163

And now for my second book, a YA novel entitled Matched. Yes, I told you I was super psyched about reading this. I warned you. Matched is by Ally Condie, a Utahan like myself.

It dances on the air for a moment before it falls, too. A fresh gust of wind almost saves it, but a worker catches sight of it and lifts a tube up to suck the paper from the air, to suck the words from the sky. ~pg 128

I'm really excited for both of these books. Both seem to possess great writing styles. I'm super excited.

What's your Teaser Tuesday? Leave a link.

Love,
Danica Page

  2. Thanks! I'm so glad that you thought I chose a lyrical teaser. I'm definitely going to take that as a compliment. And thanks for leaving the link. I love checking out other people's posts.

    Have a great day!
