Before I get into my review, here is the synopsis on goodreads:
Evie’s always thought of herself as a normal teenager, even though she works for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, she’s falling for a shape-shifter, and she’s the only person who can see through paranormals’ glamours.
But Evie’s about to realize that she may very well be at the center of a dark faerie prophecy promising destruction to all paranormal creatures.
So much for normal.
My rating: 4 out of 5 stars. I loved this novel.
My Overall Thoughts/Impressions: I read this in one sitting. I've heard really good things about this novel. I really loved the main characters Evie and Lend. I loved Keirsen's entertaining and compelling writing style. I've not really been in a paranormal reading mood as of late, but that seems to be chaning as all five of my latest reads I chose to read for fun have been paranormal. This book did the genre justice. Paranormal novels tend to get a bad rap, but Paranormalcy is definitely worth reading. I truly did love this novel.
I'll be interested in seeing where White takes her novel in the next novel that is currently available at my library and that I will be picking up in the near future. This novel truly was an intriguing tale and caught my attention from the very first few pages. A fun, light-hearted read.
In Summary: A novel that reminded me that I love paranormal novels when they are done right. Great characters who were brilliantly crafted, an engaging and intriguing plotline. For those who love a little bit of suspense mixed in with your paranormal novels this is for you.
Warnings/Side-notes: Never actually swore. :) For those of you who have read the book, you will get why I put the smiley face there. For those of you who haven't, you'll have to read it to find out. This novel is very clean and very enjoyable. Definitely recommended to anybody and everybody.
The Wrap-up: A series that I will be keeping my eye on. I'm really excited to see where White takes this novel in the next book in the series Supernaturally.
Upcoming Review: Spells by Aprilynne Pike
