In My Mailbox (8)

Hello, this is my eighth week being involved with In My Mailbox, a weekly blogging meme hosted by The Story Siren. The point is to share the books you have acquired over the week.

This week I only got two books from the library, and two books for review, so not a great week for me, but still one of these books  in particular made this haul great.

Books I got from the library:

This week I picked up two books from the library, but the second book I picked up is one I've been wanting to read for an entire year, so yeah definitely worth it.

The first one I picked up was Ripple Effect by Traci Hunter Abramson. This is the sequel to Undercurrents, a book I have recently finished reading. And this is what Goodreads has to say about this one:

Kylie Ramsey is supposed to be invisible. In fact, to keep her unnoticed, the FBI has changed the world-class swimmer's identity and moved her twice in the last year. However, there are still a few people who would quickly recognize her. One of them is Matt Whitman, the man Kylie could have easily spent eternity with. The other is Judge Rush — the man who wants Kylie dead.
Now the former rising-star athlete is forced to live a life in the shadows. Worst of all, Kylie believes she will never see Matt again — especially now that she lives two thousand miles from his home. But through a twist of fate, or perhaps a fatal FBI clerical error, they both arrive in the same town, and Kylie now struggles between feelings of elation and dread. What was supposed to be a safe haven could become the most dangerous place on earth.

I have mentioned that I love romantic suspense just a few times before :) so I'm excited for this one.

The second one I picked up was What Happened to Goodbye by Sarah Dessen. I finally read this. Yes, I loved it. It's by Dessen. How can you not love it? Definitely will be posting a review of this novel on here soon, so keep your eyes open.

Here's what Goodreads has to say:

Who is the real McLean?

Since her parents' bitter divorce, McLean and her dad, a restaurant consultant, have been on the move-four towns in two years. Estranged from her mother and her mother's new family, McLean has followed her dad in leaving the unhappy past behind. And each new place gives her a chance to try out a new persona: from cheerleader to drama diva. But now, for the first time, McLean discovers a desire to stay in one place and just be herself, whoever that is. Perhaps Dave, the guy next door, can help her find out.

Combining Sarah Dessen's trademark graceful writing, great characters, and compelling storytelling, What Happened to Goodbye is irresistible reading.

I'm so happy I finally got to read this one.
Books I received for review:

The first one I received was Love Unfinished by Darrian Wilk. This one looks really intriguing. I'm excited to get to this one.

Here is what Goodreads has to say:

Soul mates from the past leave their love unfinished when a tragic accident ends their lives on their wedding day. Yet they are destined to meet again to fulfill that love in new incarnations, leading vastly different lives.

Emma thought she had chosen the right path, but too late does she realize her mistake as her husband reveals the monster behind his smile; morphing their fairytale image with loveless obligation. Trapped in a broken marriage to a powerful, abusive husband, she knows this is not the life she was destined to live. As her hope for love withers, she meets James, her love from a lifetime ago.

Emma cannot deny the love pulling her toward James, but courage to abandon her marriage wavers and unknowingly puts her love on the line. If Emma has any hope of life and love, she must trust the bond with James and be with the man destiny has spent two lifetimes guiding her toward. Are they fated to fulfill their love, or will they once again, leave love unfinished?

Sounds interesting to say the least.

The second one I received was In the Storm by Karen Metcalf. This one looks pretty interesting too. Here is what Goodreads has to say about this one:

Abandoned by the world around her, Carly believes she is fated to a life of torment at the hands of her stepfather and is desperate for an escape. When she can bear the abuse no longer and gives in to a thunderous rage, she suddenly finds herself in an unfamiliar, yet beautiful, storm world. This limbo between dimensions appears to be her private sanctuary, but it may just be her purgatory.

No one escapes fate without sacrifice, but is the price more than Carly is willing to pay?

"A book like this is why I read YA! So, with its beautifully haunting description, heart-wrenching, and utterly fantastic characters, and thought provoking scenes, I give In The Storm 5 flames!" ~ Trisha Wolfe, Young Adult Author, YA Bound Blog

And that's all for me. What did you guys get this week? Feel free to leave your link in the comments. I read every single one.
