Teaser Tuesday (11)

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly blogging meme hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anybody can play along. Just do the following:

Grab your current read. Open to a random page. Share two teaser sentences from somewhere on that page.Be careful not to include spoilers. You don't want to give the book away or ruin the book for others.Share author and title (and page number) so others can add the book to their TBR list if they like your teaser.
This week I'm currently reading The City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. This book has been featured on a ton of my weekly meme posts lately so sorry for those who actually few all of my memes, but the teaser quote is worth looking at even if you already have seen a lot of posts about this book. :)

And here is the summary from Goodreads:

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder - much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing - not even a smear of blood - to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know.

Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare's ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.

And now here is my Teaser (this one really is a teaser for me, I'm only on page 5, but I do love when characters have a sense of humor so this does sound promising.)

"I'll just leave my hat with the footman," said Jace.
Madame Dorthea shot him a dark look. "If you were half as funny as you thought you were, my boy, you'd be twice as funny as you are."
~pg 102

That is a great line. Definitely excited to read this one. Especially since I swear that everybody else has already read it.

What about you guys? What are you currently reading? Feel free to leave your link to your Teaser Tuesday. I love reading your comments and seeing what you're reading.

Love,

Danica Page

I love this book, I'm currently on the second one, I would've finished it by now, if I didn't have to give it back to the library and re-request it.

  13. That is an awesome quote (and teaser)! This is definitely on my list. They had the series at Target, well-priced, and after all I've heard of it I was sorely tempted to just go for it, but I figured I should read the first one before buying all of them. Sigh. On my list!
