Spread Love not Hate...Don't Bully

Spread Love, Not Hate

Dear Readers,

You might have seen a few posts about bullying today, because author K.C. Neal is hosting an anti-bullying day on her blog. As of a few seconds ago, there were approximately 110 people participating in this post. I encourage all of you to go to her blog and sign up to participate in this blog and post about bullying.

I decided to blog about this today, because bullying is a real problem in the United States. I even wrote an article about this a year ago. To see that article follow this link

Bullying is a real problem and like I stated in that article I linked to, President Obama declared bullying as a national health crisis. Nobody should have to deal with bullying.

So just consider this a plea to all of you out there to do your part to stop bullying. It doesn't matter what stage of life you are in, we can all do our part to stop bullying.

If you are in school yourself (elementary-college) try to befriend those who might be being bullied.

If you are a parent or grandparent or just a neighbor, try to help your kid know how wrong bullying is and keep an eye out for those kids who might need your help.

In this article, I linked to I mentioned a kid who had been plagued with bullying. That story is just one kid's tale--but that kid represents thousands of kids in America who are facing this problem.

So this is just a plea for everybody to do their part. Stop bullying, please!

  1. Thank you for this post.

As somebody who was bullied at school (a combination of being short in stature until a late growth spurt and being considered a bit of a swot), I hid away by playing dumb to the extent of genuinely believing I was stupid.

It also damaged my self-confidence as an adult. I'm still shy to some extent, but I have got better with age, and I've taken back some further control by recently passing a work based diploma.

It's a shame that we still need to discuss bullying and have to say that it's wrong without the perpetrators realising it for themselves.

  2. Melissa, thanks.

@Theta Sigma, I'm so sorry to hear that. I can relate to that as well. I had an experience that damaged my self-confidence for a very long time. It takes a long time to recover from something like that. It's sad the effect bullying can have.
