Waiting on Wednesday (12) and W.W.W. Wednesday (11)

~Waiting On Wednesday 12~

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme that is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. The point is to share a book that hasn't bee released yet, but one that you are dying to read.

This is my twelfth time participating in this meme. This week I have once again chosen one adult realistic historical book and one paranormal young adult book.

This book is called Bridge of Scarlet Leaves by  Kristina McMorris. This book will be published on February 28, 2012 by Kensington Publishing.

Oh man! This one looks SOOOOOOOO good. I really want to read this one. Here's the synopsis that is available on Goodreads.

A young woman secretly elopes with her Japanese American boyfriend the night before Pearl Harbor is bombed, forever changing two families torn between sides.
Los Angeles, 1941. Violinist Maddie Kern's life seemed destined to unfold with the predictable elegance of a Bach concerto. Then she fell in love with Lane Moritomo. Her brother's best friend, Lane is the handsome, ambitious son of Japanese immigrants. Maddie was prepared for disapproval from their families, but when Pearl Harbor is bombed the day after she and Lane elope, the full force of their decision becomes apparent. In the eyes of a fearful nation, Lane is no longer just an outsider, but an enemy.
When her husband is interned at a war relocation camp, Maddie follows, sacrificing her Juilliard ambitions. Behind barbed wire, tension simmers and the line between patriot and traitor blurs. As Maddie strives for the hard-won acceptance of her new family, Lane risks everything to prove his allegiance to America, at tremendous cost.
Skillfully capturing one of the most controversial episodes in recent American history, Kristina McMorris draws readers into a novel filled with triumphs and heartbreaking loss--an authentic, moving testament to love, forgiveness, and the enduring music of the human spirit.
I so have to read this. I saw this video on youtube and loved hearing Kristina McMorris talk about this book, so I embedded it here. I definitely am reading this book!

The second one  that I'm dying to read is Embrace (The Violet Eden Chapters, #1) by Jessica Shirvington. This one is released on March 6, 2012 by Sourcebooks Fire.

Okay so this one isn't my typical read, but it looks intriguing and I've heard people say some really good things about this one.

Here's the synopsis from Goodreads,

It starts with a whisper: “It’s time for you to know who you are…”

Violet Eden dreads her seventeenth birthday. After all, it’s hard to get too excited about the day that marks the anniversary of your mother’s death. As if that wasn’t enough, disturbing dreams haunt her sleep and leave her with very real injuries. There’s a dark tattoo weaving its way up her arms that wasn’t there before.

Violet is determined to get some answers, but nothing could have prepared her for the truth. The guy she thought she could fall in love with has been keeping his identity a secret: he’s only half-human—oh, and same goes for her.

A centuries-old battle between fallen angels and the protectors of humanity has chosen its new warrior. It’s a fight Violet doesn’t want, but she lives her life by two rules: don’t run and don’t quit. When angels seek vengeance and humans are the warriors, you could do a lot worse than betting on Violet Eden…

Look for the sequels ENTICED in September 2012 and EMBLAZE in March 2013!

I've heard good things about it and am interested to see which direction this novel takes, so I'll definitely be waiting for this novel to come out.

And those are the books that I'm dying to read. But enough about me, what book did you guys pick? Please leave your link in the comments section. I love hearing from you guys.

~W.W.W. Wednesday (11)~

W.W.W. Wednesday is another weekly meme. This one is hosted by Miz B of Should Be Reading. To play along just answer three simple questions: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? And what do you think you'll read next?

This is my eleventh week participating in this meme.

What am I currently reading?

I am currently reading Love Unfinished by Darian Wilk. I received this one for review from the author, and am currently halfway. I featured this book in my Teaser Tuesday post yesterday if you are really curious about this book. I'm liking it so far. It's about a couple who were married and then immediately killed. She was sent back to find him and finish their life together, instead she married a jerk in this life. But then she meets James, her lover from a different lifetime. It's intriguing thus far.

What did I recently finish reading?

I just finished reading The Faerie Queene by Edmund Spenser. It was actually really good. I probably wouldn't recommend it to most readers, simply because it wouldn't be most people's cup of tea. However, this book apparently influenced J.K. Rowling if that makes you want to read it.

I also finished reading Promising Light by Emily Ann Ward as part of her blog tour. My review went up yesterday. T see that review, please click here. And I'm also sponsoring a giveaway of this novel which starts today! Trust me you want to enter this giveaway. To enter click here. I loved this one. Definitely recommend it. I'm go glad I received this one for review.

I also finished the Sea Cutter by Timothy Davis. I also received this one for review. This one is for a younger audience, a younger boy. But I still enjoyed reading it. It's very short and full of adventure.

What do I think I'll read next?

I have a done of books on my review docket so I'll probably reread Venom so I can write a good review for it.

I'm also going to read The Talisman of Faerie by Jason N. Beil which I received for review. This one looks pretty good and looks like it's going to be an epic fantasy.

After that I'm going to read Completely Whole by Paulette Harper. This book is not my usual read. It's a religious non-fiction text, but it looks good. And I received it for review. Those are the next three books on my review docket.

For fun, I'm probably going to read either Falling for Hamlet or Tris and Izzie.

That's all for me. What about you guys? What are you reading? Please leave your link in the comments. I love hearing from you.
