Blog Tour/Book Review: Fall of Eden by Michele Poague

Hello Readers,

Today I'm pleased to be a part of the blog tour for Michele Poague's book Fall of Eden. Today I'll be posting my review and if you stop by later on, I will be including an interview with Michele. So be sure to stop by later. Also following my review, you'll have a chance to win this book.

I had the opportunity to read the first in this series last year and thoroughly enjoyed her novel. My review can be found here.

But first here's some information about the author and the blog tour.

Born Michele Rae Jeffryes in Newman Grove, Nebraska, Michele Poague has spent most of her life in Colorado, South Dakota and Nevada, and has lived in Denver, Colorado, since 1984. When she is not writing novels, researching a story, traveling, or working at her full time job as a nightclub manager, Michele volunteers her time as an advocate for the Libertarian Party.

And now here is some more information about the book:
Myths are but shadows of a greater truth.

What is the Healing Crystal and who is the rightful heir? Is it a religious object or a powerful weapon? Does it belong to a fallen line of kings or to the colonists of Survin? Should its fate be left in the hands of the young and inexperienced Kairma or to Narvin, the last descendent of a line of kings?

Kairma holds the Crystal and believes she will become the next leader of Survin, while her younger sister Kinter, believes she, not Kairma, is the rightful heir. Narvin believes the Healing Crystal is the Star of Genesis, a powerful relic his ancestors have been seeking for centuries.

Determined to possess the object that will return him to his glory, Narvin is unwavering in his quest to possess it, and Kairma is caught in a fierce race across barren deserts and rugged mountains to a shattering finish where the winner must decide the fate of the world.

And now for my review:
My Rating:
Disclaimers: I received a copy of this book for review as part of the tour. I'm not receiving any compensation for writing this review.
My Overall Thoughts/Impressions: I was really intrigued to see how Michele developed her book. The first book was so complicated and had so much going on and there was so much that needed to be resolved.
I wasn't sure if Michele would be able to pull it off. I shouldn't have worried. Michele handled the sequel well. I was worried there would be a sequel slump. I shouldn't have worried.
I loved all of the characters. They just seemed so real. Kairma is just so intriguing and I love the love triangle. I'm not going to give anything away, but just know that all the characters are well crafted and it was painful to watch some of the actions the characters made. But any book that can make me feel that deeply is bound to bound to leave an impact.
Plus, I just loved Collin. As I said in my last review: Collin was just slightly rebellious enough to catch my attention from the very beginning. I love characters like Collin. He's a strong force whose been dealt a tough hand in life, but he deals with it. He has been Kairma's brother's best friend and consequently Kairma's best friend too.
The plot was perfectly paced. Poague answers just enough questions to keep you satisfied but keeps you in enough suspense to leave you wanting more.
Poague definitely beat the sequel slump. If you like fantasy with kick-but heroines than this book is definitely for you.

In Summary:This book caught my attention from the beginning. Great writing combined with incredibly compelling characters and an intriguing premise make this a must-read. This is an author I'll be keeping my eyes on.
The Wrap-up: This book was a delightful read. It is on the longer end, but well worth reading. Definitely recommend it.
