Updates to Blog/Other Big News

I have updated several pages on my blog. I made my About Me page more succinct and added pictures and other fun things and combined it with my contact page. I created pages for my challenges that I'm participating in and finally updated my review archive page.

But the big news is this:

I've just finished editing my second novel as a freelance editor and am now accepting two to three more novels for editing before I leave on my trip. My rates are really low and I would really love to have edited a few more novels. I've copied the info from my Danica Page Editing Services page for your sake.

Please read this over and see if you think I'm a good fit for your novel or for a friend's novel.

Danica Page Editing Services

I am a freelance editor and work at a university as a technical editor at both the copyedit and substantive level. Additionally, I work in the college of mathematics and physical sciences and perform edits at the developmental level.

I have also been employed as an editor at a publishing house. In this job, I edited fiction and selected which books would be suitable for publication and edited these novels throughout the publication process.

I have also copyedited two novels for about $300-$400 each. That's really cheap comparatively  Usually editing costs  about a thousand dollars per novel.

So why are my costs low?

It's not because I don't do quality editing. It's because I'm doing this as a hobby to get experience on my resume and to help pay the bills. I am already employed in a job that pays extremely well. I'm not out to break your bank. I'd simply like to see better edited novels and know that I can help in that department.

I'm interested. What now?

I'm about to leave on an extended trip in 5 months and can accept two more novels for copyediting/light substantive editing. I'd really love to have two more novels to edit. If you're interested please read my editing policy and then shoot me an email.
