Before I get into my review, here's the synopsis from Goodreads:

There’s optimistic. And there’s Jesse Walker.

If he wasn’t so charming, his sunny disposition and incessant grin would get old. Fast.

Falling in love with the broken girl who had at first seemed immune to anything resembling love was the best thing to happen to Jesse since the Walkers adopted him when he was five.

As Jesse’s life continues at the ranch and Rowen begins making her mark in the Seattle art community, they wonder where the middle ground is. Or if there even is one.

As push comes to shove, they’re forced to make choices neither are eager to make, and Jesse and Rowen have to face what their lives might look like without the other.

Can two people with such tragic pasts and different presents expect a promising future together? Whatever the answer, they’ll need a lot more than love to make it.

My Rating: 3 out of 5 stars.

Why did I decide to turn the pages? I had to see what happened to Jesse and Rowen.

My Overall Thoughts/Impressions:  I enjoyed this one even though it frustrated me to no end. The characters in this novel were realistic, but they were all frustrating as all get out.

They did so many things that bugged me so many times, but I was rooting for them the entire time.

I don't like books about one couple spread out over several novels typically. It drives me nuts, but I did enjoy this one.

The writing was good and this one was better paced than the first one.

The Characters: I liked them. The characters are normal, flawed beings. I enjoyed watching them grow.

Major Strengths: The characters.

Major Weaknesses: All the frustrations the characters put me through.

So why 3 stars? It didn't quite have enough to make it 4 stars, but I enjoyed it.

Can I read the series out of order? You can, but it wouldn't make as much sense as if you read it in order.

Warnings/Side-notes: Meant for 17+. Fairly clean but meant for older audience.

The Wrap-up: I really enjoyed it. It was a fun read and I'm curious to see what happens next.

Love,

Danica Page
